Introduction

Time factor is important in manufacturing metal structures and this case increase tendency to prefabricated metal structure. Presentation

Metal frame is a set of pillars and beams (lateral, slope) and cross brace. Metal frame is a structure which has three-dimensional behavior so that its behavior may not be approximated by use of one or several independent two dimensional sets. Metal frames are special three-dimensional structures which have direct elements with rigid or articular joints.

Production structure

Thick steel sheet are cut in dimensions inserted in calculation tables of structure manufacturing in factory and connect them. In this step, some pieces namely beam, pillar, cross brace and plate are formed by which main structure of metal frame is formed by joining them at place of project and finally a light system with high rigidity is created.

Advantages

The following cases may be mentioned for metal segments and materials: high resistance of metal pieces (ratio of resistance to weight is more than concrete materials), connection and equality and uniformity of metal specification, very good durability of steel, resistance to great tensions and following Hook law, same tensional and pressing resistance, shear resistance close to them, plasticity of metal materials (tolerance of tension centralization and dynamic and strike power), speed of metal pieces installation have less time than operation of concrete pieces. It is possible to correct structure of frame in case of error in calculation by use of welding or clinching or screwing new pieces. Average weight of steel construction may be from 245 kg/m to 390 kg/sq. m and or from 80 kg/m to 128 kg/sq. m while these figures are 480 kg/m to 780 kg/sq. m or 160 kg/m to 250 kg/sq. m in reinforced concrete constructions.

Construction quality: quality of structure manufactured in factory is not comparable with welding structures which are installed at place.

Materials waste: calculator may not correctly select special segment of girders in calculation of metal frame traditional construction and have to add welding sheet to the considered section while it is possible to add lighter segments with more resistance in bolt and nut construction and this decrease waste of girders.

Security and Stability of structure: it has been proved theoretically and practically that bolt and nut construction has more stability against earthquake and lateral powers due to better quality.

Less cost: operation of bolt and nut construction has less cost in terms of economic but this doesn’t mean that bolt and nut structure has less cost among two structures and it is possible to decrease weight of structure by designer by improving segments with less weight.

Resistance against fire: bolt and nut joints have more resistance at high temperatures and high heat and destruction of structure is less than welding joints.

Not need to work place: most contractors are in trouble due to lack of suitable position and place in cities but use of this structures provides operation in the most crowed and least places.
